Timber Fencing FAQs
What fence colour will make my garden appear larger?
While you might think that your garden would follow the theory that brighter colours make indoor spaces appear larger, the opposite is actually true! Bright-coloured fences will stand out from the other garden features and highlight the size of your space. Using a darker colour like brown or green will make the area appear larger and fit in with the plants and trees in your garden.
How long does a fence made of wood last?
The lifespan of wood fencing depends on whether your timber is treated. If you choose treated wood, the fence's typical lifespan will be between 10 and 15 years. Having said that, it's not uncommon for treated timber fences to last up to 30 years with proper care.
For untreated timber, the fencing won't need to be replaced for at least five years.
How can I spice up a plain wooden fence?
If you want to replace an outdated fence with something more attractive yet practical, we have a large selection of decorative fence panels. There's something for every garden from the variety of sizes, profiles, and treatments available.
Installing a trellis on the fence is another option if you don't want to replace your fence panels. This will enable climbing flowers like jasmine and clematis to spread up over the surface of the fence panel, completely changing the appearance of your fence!
